Welcome To Brenda’s Blog!

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere,” and it is within the arts that we discover and express our imaginations. Whether it’s a child finger painting, a student acting in a school play, or a grandparent playing in an orchestra, the arts are a lifelong experience that can be enjoyed and shared with everyone around you. At The Burlington Performing Arts Centre, our mission is to bring the City of Burlington a variety of world-class performances that will both inspire and delight.

Our inaugural season included performances by Sarah McLachlan, Stuart McLean, Mavis Staples, and the State Ballet Theatre of Russia, to name a few. They were performances that fed the soul, challenged the mind and lifted spirits. With over 30,000 people coming through our doors in that first season, we hope that you, our community, will continue to embrace us as we enter into our second season.

This season our stages will once again be filled with spectacular performers, including Canadian legend Colin James, Mediterranean guitar sensation Pavlo, the renowned TSO Brass, comedian and Corner Gas star Brent Butt, American Grammy Award winning blues musician Taj Mahal , a dynamic force in Canadian dance Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, and Cape Breton fiddle virtuoso Natalie MacMaster. We are also encouraging families to take advantage of our Family Programming with performances such as the right side up and upside down Jamie Adkins: Circus Incognitus (pictured above) and the energetic and eco-friendly Scrap Arts Music. With so much variety, we’re hoping everyone will be able to find a performance that will captivate and delight.

Stay tuned to Brenda’s Blog for updates about The Burlington Performing Arts Centre, upcoming performances, and our ongoing mission to share Experiences That Inspire!

  1. Good going Brenda. We need more advertising for the centre. Maybe I will see you at the meeting on Wednesday.
